The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
WHAT YOU DO
Providing immediate technical support for line stoppages involves diagnosing and repairing complex faults across all plant equipment while logging activities in the CMMS.
Executing scheduled mechanical and electrical inspections prevents run-to-fail scenarios and ensures compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Safety remains paramount as you must ensure all work adheres to Lock Out Tag Out procedures to maintain the integrity of safety circuits and guarding.
Maintaining effective communication includes escalating plant issues and conducting meaningful handovers with incoming technicians and shift leaders.
Testing and inspecting electrical systems guarantees proper installation, operation, and wiring across the building's fixtures.
Identifying recurring bottlenecks allows you to implement modifications that improve Mean Time Between Failures and reduce Mean Time To Repair.
Administrative duties require providing data for new part procurement, preparing emergency orders, and updating technical manuals when necessary.
WHO YOU ARE
You hold an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering alongside an 18th Edition City & Guilds (BS7671) Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations.
Having completed a formal multi-skilled apprenticeship, you also possess a BTEC, ONC, or HNC in Mechatronics or Automation Engineering.
Your technical background spans 2 to 5 years in a production or trade environment, equipping you with in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics, and familiarity with robotics.
Possessing an IOSH Working Safely certification or equivalent, you are well-versed in 5S Methodology and safe working practices.
Working under pressure is natural to you, demonstrating resilience during line breakdowns and utilising analytical thinking to trace faults from digital PLC signals to physical mechanical failures.
Strong IT skills are essential, specifically comprehensive knowledge of SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
Advanced English language skills are required to translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
You are an accountable, proactive self-starter with a valid driving licence who is willing to work shifts and participate in on-call duties. xwzovoh
