Senior Baker / Supervisor - Artisan Jewish Bakery (London)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Baker / Supervisor to join a well-established artisan Jewish bakery based in Gants Hill. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled baker with strong technical knowledge to take on a hands-on supervisory role within a quality-driven environment.
Working predominantly morning shifts (from 6am-3pm), you will play a key role in overseeing daily production alongside a team of bakers. The position is focused on process, quality and consistency rather than people management, ensuring production runs smoothly, volumes are maintained and any issues are quickly identified and resolved.
You will be responsible for producing a range of traditional breads including challah, rye, babka and hand-rolled bagels, as well as supporting daily specials. A strong understanding of artisan baking techniques, production planning and working to par levels is essential, along with the ability to monitor stock and manage what is required for each day's production.
The Perks

Up to £18 per hour, depending on experience
45 hours per week
5 days out of 7
shifts between 6am-12pm

The Person
The successful Senior Baker / Supervisor will have the following:
Previous experience within an artisan bakery environment
Strong experience producing hand-rolled bagels and traditional breads
A solid understanding of fermentation, dough handling, proofing and baking
Experience working to production targets, volumes and par levels
A quality-focused mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A hands-on, reliable and proactive approach
A team-focused attitude, working closely with a small team of bakers
