The Opportunity
As a leader in sustainable construction materials, were looking for an Assistant Asphalt Plant Manager to take full ownership of site operations, driving performance, safety and continuous improvement across the plant.
This is a key leadership role where youll be responsible for supporting optimising production, developing your team and ensuring the site consistently delivers high-quality materials to our customers.
As Assistant Asphalt Plant Manager, youll support the oversight of all aspects of the plants daily operations from production and maintenance to safety, quality and team leadership.
Youll play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, cost control and continuous improvement, ensuring the plant not only meets but exceeds performance targets. xwzovoh
What Youll Be DoingLeading the day-to-day operations of the asphalt plant, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant production
Promoting and embedding a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring all activities align with company standards and legislation
Driving production performance, ensuring output, quality and on-time delivery targets are consistently met
Maximising plant efficiency by optimising processes, resources and asset utilisation
Monitoring plant performance and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Managing and developing plant teams, including recruitment, training, performance management and engagement
Managing site budgets, costs and resources to ensure strong financial performance
Ensuring compliance with all quality standards, environmental requirements and operational procedures
Proven experience in an Assistant Plant Manager or similar role, ideally within asphalt, aggregates or a heavy industrial environment
Strong understanding of production, maintenance and operational management principles
Good knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental standards
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, develop and motivate high-performing teams
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements
Ability to create accountability and lead by example
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
IT literacy and familiarity with operational systems
Minimum IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
