Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor – Midlands

£45 per hour (outside IR35) + mileage + overnight accommodation + food allowance + extensive & interesting client portfolio + long-term contract work.

This would suit a contract Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor who has other clients and is looking to add to their portfolio.

Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor responsibilities include:

• Act as a Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor, visiting various Nuclear supply chain sites across the UK as required.
• Responsible for undertaking quality Inspections / audit activities for a range of projects.
• Conduct pre audit visits and gap analysis of fabricators around the UK who are looking to attain or requalify for ISO 9001
• Prepare audit plan; write reports; perform follow-up; provide certification recommendations.
• Ensure audit reports, finding evidence and auditor notes are submitted.
• Ensure client non-conformities are closed, review and analyse client responses.
• Provide answers to any requests arising during the technical review of files.
• Ensure all quality and client records related to audit and certification activities are maintained and up to date.

Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor profile:

• Relevant Engineering qualification.
• CSWIP 3.1/3.2
• Previous or valid PCNs - combination of Radiographic, DPI, MPI and UT.
• IRCA Auditor (International Register of Certificated Auditors).
• Must have current & valid ISO 9001 External Auditing qualification
• 3yrs Lead Audit experience, ideally at least 1yrs' external Lead Audit background.
• Auditing experience within the Nuclear Supply Chain / Fabrication / Oil & Gas or similar environments.
• Good knowledge of Quality Management systems.
• Experience assisting & organising audit teams beneficial.
• Client / stakeholder management experience. xwzovoh
