About the role

EduTalent Group are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Development Mentor to join a specialist independent co educational day and boarding school supporting students with dyslexia and co occurring specific learning difficulties. The role focuses on supporting Sixth Form learners both on site and at partner colleges, helping them develop independence, confidence, and strong academic habits. The successful candidate will work closely with students in one to one and small group settings, delivering targeted support in English and Maths, alongside study skills and independence programmes. A key part of the role includes supporting GCSE resit learners and functional skills development, as well as contributing to the Frewen Diploma of Achievement and wider mentoring programmes that promote personal growth, resilience and self esteem. The post holder will also work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and external partners to ensure students receive consistent, structured and effective support across all learning environments. Requirements • A Levels or equivalent qualifications, including GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting • Experience supporting or delivering English and Maths interventions or tutoring • Strong understanding of dyslexia and specific learning difficulties or willingness to develop expertise • Ability to deliver one to one and small group learning support • Strong communication and relationship building skills • Ability to adapt learning materials to meet individual needs • Good organisational skills with the ability to support individual learning plans • Confidence using ICT and digital learning tools • Experience in mentoring, coaching or pastoral support desirable • Degree or additional tutor training desirable Benefits • Opportunity to work in a specialist independent school environment • Term time working pattern with additional INSET days • Involvement in both academic and pastoral development of Sixth Form students • Opportunity to deliver English and Maths intervention and functional skills programmes • Supportive multidisciplinary team environment • Professional development opportunities in specialist learning needs education • Work across multiple educational settings including partner colleges • Chance to make a meaningful impact on student independence and confidence
