The infrastructure is crucial to achieving net-zero in the UK's most carbon-intensive industrial regions. This is a first-of-its-kind, utterly unique and extremely exciting start-up organisation. NEP is an incorporated joint venture established solely to develop and operate CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure on behalf of the NEP Shareholders - BP, Equinor and Total Energies. The role will support business leaders in identifying, assessing and managing risks, ensuring that risk information supports strategic and operational decision-making.The Risk Manager will work closely with the Internal Audit to ensure risk and assurance activities remain aligned whilst maintaining clear accountability for risk ownership within the business.Key Responsibilities:Enterprise Risk ManagementMaintain and continuously improve NEP's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.Coordinate the development and maintenance of corporate and functional risk registers.Facilitate risk assessments, workshops and risk reviews.Challenge and support risk owners in the management of risks and controls.Monitor emerging risks and changing risk exposures.Risk ReportingDevelop and maintain key risk indicators and risk metrics.Produce regular risk reports and dashboards.Support Executive Leadership and governance committees through effective risk reporting.Analyse trends and provide insight into risk drivers and control effectiveness.Risk Culture and EngagementPromote awareness and understanding of risk management across NEP.Deliver risk training and guidance to employees and contractors.Support the embedding of risk management into business planning and decision-making processes.Develop and maintain risk management procedures and supporting documentation.Collaboration and AssuranceSupport development of the organisation's annual assurance plan.Work with the Internal Audit Lead to ensure audit plans remain aligned to key risks.Support audit activities where appropriate.Provide cover for routine audit administration and action tracking activities during periods of absence.What you'll need to succeed Skills and CompetenciesRisk Management Expertise: Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles, risk assessment techniques, control frameworks and risk reporting.Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, assess and evaluate risks, analyse trends and develop practical mitigation strategies.Communication & Influence: Ability to communicate risk information clearly and effectively, influencing stakeholders to take appropriate action.Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships across NEP, shareholder organisations, service providers and contractor organisations, collaborating effectively to support risk management objectives.Facilitation & Collaboration: Skilled in facilitating risk workshops, challenging constructively and building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.Planning & Organisation: Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate risk information and deliver high-quality reporting within agreed timescales.Commercial & Business Awareness: Understanding of strategic, operational, project and commercial risks within complex infrastructure, energy or industrial environments.Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance risk management processes while maintaining a pragmatic and proportionate approach.Education and ExperienceRelevant professional qualification, degree-level education, or equivalent practical experience in risk management, governance, project controls or a related discipline.Experienced in the use of Omega 365 Risk Module for the administration, monitoring, reporting, and management of project risksMinimum 3-5 years' experience in risk management, enterprise risk, project risk or governance-related roles.Experience in the energy, infrastructure, industrial or other highly regulated sectors; Oil & Gas background is beneficial but not essential.Experience working across organisational interfaces, including service providers, joint ventures, contractors or complex stakeholder environments, is highly desirable.Proven track record of facilitating risk assessments, maintaining risk frameworks and supporting risk-based decision-making.Experience developing risk registers, risk reporting and key risk indicators.Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industry standards relevant to large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.What you'll get in return Desirable rewards package includes a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, and pension contribution.What you need to do now What you need to do now: Apply now to join Northern Endurance Partnership and help to deliver one of the UK’s most ambitious Net Zero projects.
