Business Architect - Contract

£600 per day via Umbrella | Bristol - 1 day per week | 6 months Initially

We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to support the Business Architecture Lead across the EPR Programme, shaping and delivering business architecture initiatives that improve business performance, efficiency and operating models.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, architects and delivery partners, you will identify business challenges and opportunities, define requirements, develop investment cases and help design solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders to define business challenges, objectives, scope, risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Elicit, analyse and prioritise business requirements and success measures.
• Work with architects and delivery partners to assess solution options and recommend effective approaches.
• Develop project mandates, investment cases and benefits realisation plans.
• Lead early project phases, including planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and proposal development.
• Act as the custodian of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure solutions align with business objectives and deliver expected benefits.
• Support business readiness, acceptance testing and implementation.
• Oversee and quality assure third-party Business Architecture deliverables.
• Ensure adherence to project governance and delivery assurance standards.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience delivering Business Architecture, Business Analysis, process improvement, data/MI or IT change within complex environments.
• Strong business process analysis, modelling and solution design skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, influencing and communication skills.
• Experience developing business cases, investment appraisals and benefits realisation plans.
• Knowledge of project delivery methodologies, such as PRINCE2.
• Experience supporting procurement processes, including RFI and ITT activities.
• Experience delivering operational efficiency and business transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of ONR licence conditions and cyber security requirements relevant to digital services.

Desirable: Experience within nuclear, asset-intensive, regulated or safety-critical industries, alongside knowledge of business architecture frameworks and methodologies.
