Based - Ambrosia Creamery, Lifton, Devon, PL16 0BBSalary + car allowance + bonus + private medical insuranceThe OpportunityWe’re looking for a confident, credible Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) leader to take ownership of safety, wellbeing and environmental performance at a complex manufacturing site. What you’ll be responsible forSetting and delivering the site HSE strategy in line with Group, sector and regulatory requirementsLeading cultural and behavioural change to embed a proactive, positive safety cultureEnsuring full compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation and site permitsMaintaining and continuously improving Safety & Environmental Management SystemsActing as site Duty Holder for Group‑identified specialisms and leading site security arrangementsProviding expert HSE advice and support to leaders, employees and contractorsLeading incident investigations, root cause analysis and preventative action planningMonitoring, analysing and reporting HSE performance, trends and KPIs to site leadershipLeading engagement initiatives, including safety and environmental campaignsManaging preparation for, and participation in, external audits and regulatory inspectionsActing as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies, including the Environment AgencySupporting safe design, operational change and capital projects with strong HSE inputLeading, developing and coaching the site SHE teamAbout youYou’re a pragmatic, visible HSE leader who can influence at all levels and balance operational delivery with regulatory and compliance demands. Proven experience in a senior HSE role within a regulated environmentStrong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislationExperience leading or supporting audits (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 preferred)Ability to influence behaviour and build strong relationships across a siteExcellent communication, organisational and leadership skillsWhy join us?This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the safety, environmental and wellbeing culture of a major site.
