Mechanical Contracts Manager - Data Centres
Reading / Slough / Buckinghamshire
Up to £105,000 + Package
A leading Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join its specialist Data Centre division.
With a strong reputation for delivering complex, mission-critical projects, the business continues to secure major Data Centre developments across the Thames Valley and South East. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing division working on technically challenging projects for some of the world's leading technology and infrastructure clients.
The Role As a Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical packages across either multiple Data Centre projects or one major flagship development. Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, commercial teams and clients, you will oversee projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest technical standards. This role requires a strong leader who is comfortable managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining exceptional levels of quality across all stages of delivery.
Key Responsibilities Oversee the delivery of mechanical packages across Data Centre projects. Manage multiple Project Managers and site delivery teams. Provide leadership from pre-construction through to final handover. Monitor programme, commercial performance, quality and Health & Safety. Review technical submissions, procurement strategies and project delivery plans. Manage subcontractor performance and supply chain relationships. Attend client, design and progress meetings. Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations and programme milestones. Support commissioning, testing and handover activities. Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and consultants. Identify commercial opportunities and mitigate project risks. Mentor and develop Project Managers and Engineers within the business. Experience & Requirements Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager within the Building Services industry. Previous experience delivering Data Centre or other critical infrastructure projects is highly desirable. Strong background managing large mechanical building services packages. Experience overseeing multiple projects and project teams. Excellent commercial awareness and programme management skills. Strong client-facing experience. SMSTS. CSCS Card. Full UK Driving Licence. Skills Excellent leadership and people management skills. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services. Commercially aware with excellent contractual understanding. Strong planning and organisational abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Calm under pressure with a proactive and solutions-focused approach. The Opportunity
