Warehouse Manager Location: Dunstable, Bedfordshire Salary: £35,000 per annum – negotiable for the right candidate Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Start Time: 7:00am–8:00am Industry: Food Manufacturing About the Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Manager to join our food manufacturing business based in Dunstable. This is an important management position with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse and the leadership of a team of approximately 32 employees working across both day and night shifts. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the warehouse operates safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. You will be responsible for maintaining strong communication between shifts, managing performance and ensuring that operational requirements are met. Key Responsibilities You will oversee all aspects of the warehouse operation, including the receiving, storage, picking and dispatch of goods, while ensuring stock accuracy and effective inventory control. A major part of the role will be people management. You will lead, motivate and develop a team of around 32 employees working different shifts, ensuring clear communication, strong performance and a positive working environment. You will also manage attendance, training and performance matters where required. You will work closely with Production, Transport, Planning and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials throughout the business. You will also monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and productivity. As this is a multi-shift operation, flexibility is important. Although the position is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, you will occasionally be required to communicate or meet with team members outside of your normal working hours, particularly where this is necessary to support the night shift or deal with important operational or people-related matters. About You We are looking for someone with previous experience in a Warehouse Manager or senior warehouse management position, ideally within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced environment. You will have proven experience managing a sizeable team, preferably across multiple shifts, and be confident dealing with both operational and people-related challenges. Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills are essential, together with a good understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, health & safety and food safety requirements. We are looking for a hands-on manager who is comfortable making decisions, solving problems and holding people accountable, while also developing and supporting their team.
