This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.About the Organisation: PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.The Post: This is a key leadership role within the Data and Analytics service, responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of operational digital and data services that support national priorities across NHS Scotland.The Service Delivery Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering business intelligence and data services, ensuring that services are reliable, high-quality, and continuously improved to meet customer needs. The role sits at the heart of service delivery, balancing live service management, ongoing development, stakeholder engagement, and performance oversight.Unlike project or programme management roles, this post focuses on the ongoing ownership and optimisation of services, ensuring that solutions are effectively transitioned into, and sustained within, live operational environments.The postholder will:• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of data and analytics services across a complex stakeholder landscape.• Oversee service performance, managing risks, issues and dependencies to ensure delivery against agreed objectives.• Work closely with senior stakeholders, partners and customers to understand priorities, manage expectations and shape service direction.• Provide leadership and direction to a team of technical specialists, supporting development, performance and capability.• Ensure robust governance, standards and processes are in place to support consistent, high-quality service delivery.The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues across Digital & Security, Public Services Delivery Scotland, NHS Boards, Scottish Government and external partners, contributing to the delivery of national data-driven improvements.The Candidate:We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader with a strong track record in service delivery within digital, data or Business Intelligence environments.You will bring:• Proven experience of delivering and managing operational digital or data services, rather than solely project-based delivery.• Strong leadership skills, with experience of managing, developing and motivating teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.• Experience of working within Business Intelligence, data and analytics domains, and an understanding of how data services are designed, delivered and supported.• The ability to manage complex service environments, balancing competing priorities, risks and stakeholder demands.• Demonstrable experience of influencing and engaging senior stakeholders, building effective working relationships across organisational boundaries.• Experience of establishing and maintaining effective processes, governance and performance management frameworks.• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond to complex or ambiguous situations.• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and accessible way.You will be a resilient and collaborative leader, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement, quality service delivery and supporting the development of others.Location and Working Pattern:These posts can be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.Currently hybrid working.The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.Benefits: Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
