Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to join a growing business delivering high-voltage substation and transmission projects across Scotland.

This is a key leadership role for an experienced HV professional with a strong background in substation installation and project delivery. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership across live projects, working closely with project teams, site teams and senior leadership to ensure safe, successful and efficient delivery.

We are looking for someone with practical experience of delivering major HV projects, ideally with experience working on 400kV AIS and/or GIS substations, who understands the challenges of building, installing and commissioning complex electrical infrastructure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership across HV substation installation projects.
• Support the successful delivery of 400kV AIS/GIS substation projects.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and engineering teams to overcome delivery challenges.
• Provide hands-on leadership and support throughout construction, installation and commissioning phases.
• Manage resources, subcontractors and site delivery performance.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to quality standards and within commercial objectives.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and operational performance.
• Support the continued growth and development of the business

Knowledge and Skills

• Extensive experience delivering HV substation installation projects.
• Strong background in 400kV AIS and/or GIS substation environments.
• Proven experience managing construction and installation activities on major electrical infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading site teams, engineers, subcontractors and delivery partners.
• Strong understanding of HV equipment installation, testing and commissioning processes.
• Experience working within transmission, utilities or major infrastructure environments. xwzovoh
