About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our agency team supporting children and young people within residential living settings.
This Residential Support Worker role involves working with young people who may have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, family breakdown, exploitation, or time in care. You will provide consistent, practical, and emotional support to help them build confidence, develop independent living skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about making a real difference in children’s residential care.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain professional, supportive relationships with young people
• Deliver person-centred and trauma-informed support
• Support independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, cleaning and tenancy preparation
• Encourage engagement in education, training, and employment
• Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive decision-making
• Support attendance at appointments, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
• Complete accurate documentation including daily logs, care plans, and risk assessments
• Maintain safeguarding standards and follow children’s residential care regulations
• Act as a positive role model, maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
About You
We are seeking motivated and reliable Support Workers who are committed to safeguarding and empowering young people.
You will ideally:
• Have experience working in children’s residential care, supported accommodation, youth support, or similar settings
• Understand trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures
• Remain calm and confident in challenging situations
• Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
• Work effectively both independently and within a team
• Be flexible with shift patterns including evenings and sleep-ins
• Hold a full UK driving licence (desirable)
Qualifications in Health and Social Care (Level 2 or 3) are advantageous but not essential. We welcome candidates with the right values, resilience, and willingness to learn.
