Global Key Account Manager

The OpportunityThis is a high-profile position responsible for managing one of the organisation's top five global accounts. The successful candidate will act as the primary relationship owner, ensuring exceptional service delivery, identifying opportunities for growth, and coordinating cross-functional teams to support the customer's global logistics requirements.The role requires an experienced account management professional with strong air freight expertise, capable of operating strategically while maintaining close oversight of day-to-day customer activity.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and develop a portfolio of 1-3 major global key accounts, with a primary focus on one flagship customer.Build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships across regional and global customer organisations.Act as the customer's trusted advisor for all international freight forwarding and logistics requirements.Drive account growth through strategic account planning, opportunity identification, and commercial development initiatives.Lead regular business reviews, performance meetings, and strategic planning sessions.Coordinate with operational, product, and commercial teams to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction.Monitor KPIs, service performance, and contractual commitments, implementing improvement plans where required.Serve as the escalation point for critical issues and proactively manage customer expectations.Collaborate with international offices and stakeholders to ensure consistent global account management.RequirementsProven experience in Account management. Strong background managing a small number of large, complex global accounts.Demonstrable expertise in air freight, including operational understanding and commercial knowledge.Experience working with senior-level stakeholders.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.Flexible and willing to travel internationally as required.This position would suit an experienced freight forwarding professional who thrives in a customer-facing environment and has a passion for managing strategic global relationships within a specialist, high-value logistics setting.
