We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing logistics business for a Senior Traffic Planner to join their busy transport operation in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the planning team, ensuring vehicles, drivers and customer deliveries are managed efficiently while maintaining exceptional service levels and legal compliance.

The Role As Senior Traffic Planner, you will take ownership of the daily transport plan, ensuring the efficient utilisation of vehicles and drivers while responding quickly to operational challenges. Working closely with the Transport Manager and wider operations team, you'll help drive operational performance, support junior planners where required, and contribute to continuous improvement across the transport function.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and optimise daily vehicle routes and driver schedules to maximise fleet utilisation and service performance.

Produce efficient routing plans for both full load and groupage deliveries using a Transport Management System (TMS).

Demonstrate excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network to ensure efficient route planning.
