Operating across a range of large-scale engineering projects, our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality solutions throughout the UK and Ireland.Your New RoleAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems for a variety of engineering projects. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take projects from concept through to manufacture and installation, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, industry standards and project objectives.Key responsibilities will include: Producing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation Developing innovative mechanical design solutions for bespoke engineering projects Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) Collaborating with manufacturing, procurement and project teams throughout the product lifecycle Supporting prototype development, testing and continuous product improvement activities Liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors when required Ensuring all designs comply with relevant engineering standards and regulations Contributing to value engineering and cost reduction initiativesWhat You'll Need to SucceedTo be considered, you should have:Degree or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplinePrevious experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or Product Design roleStrong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Solid Edge or similar)Ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentationUnderstanding of fabrication, manufacturing and assembly processesExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a collaborative engineering environmentWhat You'll Get in ReturnCompetitive salary packageEnhanced holiday entitlementCompany pension schemeProfessional development and training opportunitiesExposure to a wide variety of technically challenging projectsLong-term career progression within a growing engineering businessSupportive and collaborative engineering team environmentWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
