Principal Test Development Engineer

Job Title: SC Cleared Principal Test Development Engineer Location: Ashford Duration: 6 months with possible extension Rate: Up to £500 per day via an approved umbrella company Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC clearance process Join a team designing and evolving automated test capability that helps deliver realistic weapons test and operator training worldwide. This is a hands-on Principal Test Development Engineer role where you'll lead technical direction, mentor others, and stay close to complex electronic and software-based test solutions. What you'll be doing: Maintain and enhance existing NI-based Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems Lead the design, development and verification of automated test solutions using TestStand, LabVIEW and FlexStand Design test fixtures and commission new test capability for products and subsystems Work with engineering teams to embed Design for Test (DFT) principles into new product development Provide technical leadership within your specialist test engineering discipline Mentor and support engineers, helping raise capability across the test function Develop documentation, processes and future test strategies to support production and new product introductionWhat you'll bring: Strong hands-on experience with TestStand and automated functional test systems Experience developing solutions using LabVIEW Proven background in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) design, support or test development Electronics engineering knowledge, including the ability to understand schematics Experience in a production or manufacturing environment Familiarity with instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators and data acquisition equipmentIf you're ready to shape future test strategy while staying hands-on with real-world engineering challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
