They are looking to appoint a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth and efficient running of their busy processing site in Rochester. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and proactive engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and improving equipment reliability in a fast-paced operational environment. Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a range of plant and machinery, ensuring downtime is minimised and all equipment operates safely and efficiently. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will: Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site equipment and machinery Respond to breakdowns and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults Repair and maintain conveyors, compactors, shredders and associated plant equipment Complete maintenance records accurately using internal systems Support shutdowns, equipment installations and improvement projects Work closely with operations teams to minimise disruption to production Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health and safety standards Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial, manufacturing, recycling or waste management environment Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems Engineering qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent Forklift or mobile plant experience would be advantageous Opportunity to join a growing environmental company delivering essential services Long-term career development opportunities Competitive salary and benefits package This role would suit a practical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving problems, keeping machinery running efficiently and contributing to the success of a busy operational site.
