Customs Entry Clerk

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, based in Dagenham, who is looking for an experienced Customs Entry Clerk to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in freight forwarding and a strong understanding of customs procedures to play a key role in ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of import and export entries.

Location: Dagenham, RM9

Salary: £25,000–£30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing customs entries for both import and export consignments.
• Handling customs-related queries, including commodity codes, duty rates, licences and documentation requirements.
• Calculating customs duties and VAT accurately for each consignment.
• Processing duty reclaims and ensuring all relevant documentation is maintained.
• Ensuring compliance with current customs regulations and legislation as requirements evolve.
• Liaising with relevant parties to resolve customs entry queries and ensure the smooth processing of consignments.
