Training & Quality Lead
About the role
We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Manufacturing Team Leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who enjoys developing people, driving performance, and delivering operational excellence.
As a Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead by example, support your team on the shop floor, and work closely with management to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support a team of production operators to achieve daily production targets.
- Coordinate labour and machine resources to maximise productivity.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor team performance, attendance and timekeeping.
- Support shift planning and effective handovers between teams.
- Identify production issues, troubleshoot problems and escalate where required.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste.
- Deliver on-the-job training and support employee development.
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure documentation is completed correctly.
- Foster strong communication across departments to ensure smooth operations.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong people management and team motivation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- A positive, hands-on approach with the confidence to lead by example.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage challenging situations professionally.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Manufacturing (or equivalent).
- Experience within logistics, goods in/goods out or material flow operations.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 6S principles.
