Astute's Power team is partnering with leading with a Power Generation company to recruit an Area Leader for its Energy unit at their site in Newark The Energy Area Lead role comes with a starting salary of up to £74,000 benefits package.

If you're an experienced DCS operator who has supervised or led teams, who is looking for their next challenge then upload your CV to apply today Responsibilities and duties of the Energy Area Lead role Reporting to the General Manager you will: Lead the Energy operations team to deliver strong performance and enable effective decision-making and optimal efficiencies.
Oversee CHP operations, including gas usage, electricity generation, high-pressure steam, air services, and water treatment.
Ensure full compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
Drive site improvement programmes to enhance performance across people, plant, and processes.
Manage contracts and negotiations with gas suppliers in collaboration with procurement teams.
Oversee energy efficiency, including fuel usage (£6M) and electricity generation/sales (10MW output).
Manage, coach, and develop team members to build capability and accountability.
Ensure effective asset management, maintenance, and audit-ready operational standards within the energy function.
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Relevant engineering qualification, ideally HNC / HND / Degree Proven experience operating high pressure, steam generation plant such as power generation, refinery or chemical plants.
(essential) Experience managing large operational and maintenance budgets.
Strong understanding of engineering reliability, compliance, and asset management A maintenance background would be highly desirable.
Experience in contract management and supplier negotiation.
Personal Skills The Energy Area Lead role would suit someone who is: Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and empower teams.
Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
Strategic thinker with sound decision-making and accountability.
