About the role
Explore a rewarding opportunity as a Hospital Pharmacist in Plymouth.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and motivated pharmacist to join a hospital team on a locum basis, supporting perioperative care and medicines optimisation.
Key details:
ASAP start
£30 per hour PAYE
3 to 5 days per week
Summer role with potential extension beyond
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and senior pharmacists
Support perioperative medicine management across surgical pathways
Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and prescribing best practice
Involvement in enhanced recovery pathways and patient safety initiativesAbout the Role:
Hospital setting in Plymouth
Focus on perioperative and surgical patient care
Supportive and collaborative clinical environment
Opportunity to develop expertise across a range of specialist areasKey Responsibilities:
Perioperative medicine management
Postoperative analgesia optimisation
Management of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV)
Antimicrobial stewardship
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention, including hospital-acquired thrombosis
Perioperative care of elderly patients
Enhanced recovery pathways
Medicines optimisationIdeal Candidate:
GPhC registered Pharmacist
