About the role

The Research Informatics Programme Lead will drive CUH's data and research‑informatics transformation agenda, providing strategic leadership to deliver the Research Review's Data Workstream and the broader Research Informatics Strategy, working under the directive of the CRIO and the Research Review Steering Group.

In addition, the postholder will act as the programme delivery lead for cross‑workstream "digital backbone" capabilities that underpin both data‑enabled discovery and the Tissue workstream transformation programme.

This is a pivotal senior leadership role at the centre of CUH's research transformation programme, requiring extensive collaboration across CUH, the University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Health Partners, digital teams, clinical groups, operational teams and external partners, applying strong leadership and facilitation skills to manage interdependencies, resolve complex issues, and deliver transformative impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery of the Data Workstream, defining clear objectives, milestones, risks, and outcomes, and ensuring they are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate and align multiple internal teams and senior stakeholders, enabling coherent progress across data governance, access, digital capability, and research‑informatics initiatives.
  • Lead on the delivery of key infrastructure capability and research projects aligned with the Trust's research informatics objectives.
  • Provide insight and reporting to support executive decision‑making, track progress against the Research Informatics Strategy, and inform strategic priorities.
  • Engage senior leadership, including the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Biomedical Research Centre Director, and other executives, to support prioritisation, address barriers, and maintain visibility of delivery.
  • Shape programme structures and processes that embed scalable, consistent, and high‑quality research‑informatics delivery across CUH.

We welcome applications for all positions in the organisation irrespective of people's age, disability, ethnicity, race, nationality, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership status, or pregnancy and maternity status or social economic background.
