Base pay range

An established and growing organisation is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their busy finance and payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and adaptable individual to take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes while developing their expertise within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy payroll environment
  • Proficient in Sage Payroll or similar payroll software
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning

About Your New Role

Always:

  • Deliver accurate and compliant payroll processing across multiple pay frequencies
  • Maintain professionalism when liaising with clients, colleagues, and external partners
  • Take responsibility for your work, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy

Often:

  • Process starters, leavers, and salary adjustments, including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
  • Manage pension auto-enrolment and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, P45s, P60s, and year-end documentation
  • Handle payroll queries promptly and professionally
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

Occasionally:

  • Support with ad hoc payments and BACS submissions
  • Assist with payroll-related projects or process improvements
  • Provide administrative support to the wider finance function when required

Never:

  • Be limited to one routine – this role offers exposure to varied payroll and finance operations
  • Miss an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement and client satisfaction
