Job Title: Senior Service Chemist (Water Hygiene & Treatment) Location: Field based role – (regional/national travel with some ad-hoc Home/office work) Salary: £37.5K - £42K DOE Hours: 40 hours per week Vehicle: Choice of company vehicle or car allowance About Us We are a leading provider of compliance services, specialising in asbestos management, air quality monitoring, and water hygiene solutions. Our mission is to ensure safe, compliant environments for our clients while maintaining the highest internal standards across all site operations. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Service Chemist to deliver high-quality water treatment and hygiene services across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and public sector clients. This is a client-facing, senior technical role focused on system optimisation, compliance, and providing expert guidance in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274. The Job Role • Carry out chemical monitoring, analysis and treatment across cooling towers, boilers, and closed water systems • Deliver water hygiene services including sampling, testing, inspections, and disinfection • Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accurate service documentation • Act as technical lead on client accounts, providing recommendations and solutions • Support and mentor junior technicians and chemists • Contribute to technical problem-solving, tenders, and operational improvements Skills & Experience Essential: • Degree-qualified in Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar • 3–5+ years’ experience in water treatment / water hygiene • Strong knowledge of water chemistry, Legionella control, and compliance standards • Proven experience across cooling towers, closed systems, and boiler treatment • Excellent problem-solving, reporting and client communication skills • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Desirable: * Legionella / water hygiene qualifications * Professional membership (e.g. WMS, LCA) * Experience supervising or mentoring teams What We Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Ongoing professional development and training support. * Opportunity to make a real impact within a growing compliance services business. * Supportive and collaborative working environment.
