Yard Operative

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established business in Battle for an experienced Yard Operative to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This Yard Operative role is focused on goods in and goods out operations within a busy yard environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day goods in/out activity, ensuring the yard runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is a hands-on position where you will be trusted to manage your own workload across goods in, goods out, stock movement, and general yard duties with minimal supervision. What’s on Offer: * Location: Battle, East Sussex * Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour * Work Type: Full-time, temp to perm Key Responsibilities * Carrying out daily Yard Operative duties * Loading and unloading goods in/out safely and accurately * Operating a counterbalance forklift within the yard (essential) * Organising goods in/out stock and ensuring all movements are recorded correctly * Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised yard at all times * Supporting wider yard operations as required * Taking ownership of Yard Operative responsibilities with minimal supervision Skills, Experience and Requirements * Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Yard Operative (essential) * Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential) * Strong experience in goods in and goods out operations * Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy * Strong awareness of yard health and safety procedures * Positive, proactive approach * Able to take ownership of the yard * Must have own safety boots (mandatory) Our Ideal Yard Operative * A confident Yard Operative who takes full ownership of goods in/out tasks * Someone who can be trusted to manage their own yard workload * Strong experience in yard operations, especially goods in and goods out * Able to work independently while keeping yard standards high * Organised and safety-conscious in all goods in/out activity How to Apply If you are an experienced Yard Operative with strong goods in/out experience and a valid counterbalance licence, we would love to hear from you.
