Electrical Design Engineer Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk Salary: Circa £50,000 DOE + Hybrid Working Coates Recruitment is working with a specialist engineering manufacturer seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who enjoys taking projects from concept through to manufacture. Working on a range of bespoke engineering projects, you will play a key role in producing high-quality electrical designs, technical documentation and innovative engineering solutions. The role offers a varied mix of design, product development and project support responsibilities, with the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and enjoy a flexible hybrid working environment. Key Responsibilities * Produce electrical schematics and technical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical * Develop complete design solutions from customer enquiry through to manufacture * Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting technical documentation * Support bespoke customer projects and new product development activities * Ensure electrical drawings and design documentation are accurately controlled and maintained * Work closely with engineering, production and supply chain teams throughout the project lifecycle * Review and check electrical designs and drawings where required * Support testing, validation and technical problem-solving activities * Assist with mentoring and supporting junior members of the engineering team * Contribute towards continuous improvement of engineering processes and design standards Suitable Applicants Are Likely To Have Experience With: * AutoCAD Electrical * Electrical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment * Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation * Electrical control systems and panel design * Creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) * Working to recognised engineering standards and best practice * Delivering projects from concept through to manufacture What's On Offer? * Salary circa £50,000 DOE * Hybrid working available, typically 1-2 days per week from home * Flexible and supportive working environment * Varied project work with genuine engineering challenges * Opportunity to influence product development and design improvements * Mentoring and leadership responsibilities * Long-term career progression opportunities * Growing and successful engineering business * Overtime opportunities available during busy project periods This position would suit an Electrical Design Engineer looking for a role offering greater project ownership, technical variety and the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement within a supportive engineering team.
