Senior Design Manager

Senior Design Manager | Facades & Remediation | Dartford | Perm or Freelance   I’m working directly with a façade and remediation contractor who are looking to strengthen their technical team due to multiple major project wins across London and the South East.   This is a key hire within a lean technical team where they need someone experienced enough to take ownership quickly and operate with minimal hand-holding.   The Role • Technical lead across a £14m recladding project and a £6m remediation scheme • Both projects are 6/7 storey buildings with substantial external envelope packages and large footprints • Managing technical coordination, design reviews, consultant/subcontractor coordination and site support • Working closely with operational and commercial teams across live remediation projects • Reporting directly into senior management within a very small technical team • Office based in Dartford with site visits as required   What they’re looking for • Strong façade / recladding / fire remediation experience is essential • Someone capable of hitting the ground running technically and operationally • Strong preference for construction-led backgrounds • They feel candidates coming from purely architectural routes often struggle with the pace and practical delivery side of the role • Organised, proactive and commercially aware • Comfortable operating within a lean business environment where ownership is expected   The Business • Growing façade and remediation contractor with major recently secured workload • Long-term pipeline across London and the South East • Small, hands-on technical team with direct exposure to senior leadership • Delivery-focused culture with strong emphasis on accountability and pace   Good opportunity for someone wanting genuine ownership, major recladding schemes and a business where experienced technical people are heavily relied upon.   Michael Ogunyankin | (phone number removed) | michael @ borneltd . com
