We are supporting a specialist independent school in Outer London in the appointment of a Humanities Teacher to join from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Humanities Teacher to join a nurturing and highly structured environment where a Humanities Teacher will play a key role in shaping engaging, accessible learning. The successful Humanities Teacher will be joining a team that values consistency, creativity, and strong relationships.
The school is a well-regarded independent specialist setting supporting neurodivergent young people with a primary diagnosis of autism.

The Role | Humanities Teacher
Position: Humanities Teacher (History, Geography & Religious Education)
Location: Barnet
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: M1-M6 Outer London
The Ideal Humanities Teacher
We are looking for a teacher who:
Essential:
Holds QTS
Has experience teaching Humanities at secondary level
Can confidently deliver across KS3 (KS2/KS4 experience beneficial)
Has strong subject knowledge across History, Geography and/or RE
Is committed to inclusive education and student wellbeing
Demonstrates strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
Desirable:
Experience working in a SEND or specialist setting
Familiarity with autism-informed or trauma-informed approaches
Experience teaching GCSE Humanities
