Location: Stroud Area - office based role
Salary: Up to £70,000
KO2's client, a rapidly expanding and innovative start-up based in the Stroud area, is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong expertise in wireless mesh, LoRaWAN, and RF technologies to join their growing engineering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge connected products, playing a key role in shaping robust, low-power wireless systems within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for wireless and IoT products
Develop and optimise wireless mesh networking, LoRaWAN, and other RF communication protocols
Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration with embedded platforms
Debug, test, and validate RF and embedded systems in both lab and field environments
Contribute to system architecture, protocol selection, and technical strategy
Support full product lifecycle from concept through to production and deploymentRequired Skills & Experience
Strong experience in embedded C/C++ development
Proven experience with wireless mesh technologies (e.g., Zigbee, Thread, BLE Mesh)
Hands-on experience with LoRaWAN and low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) systems
Solid understanding of RF protocols and wireless communication fundamentals
Experience working with low-power embedded systems and RTOS
Familiarity with debugging tools and hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and within a teamDesirable Skills
Experience developing IoT or connected devices
Knowledge of RF design considerations and antenna performance
Understanding of wireless xwzovoh security and encryption protocols
Exposure to cloud platforms and edge computingWhat's on Offer
