Job Title: Participation and Advocacy worker Location: Belfast Salary: NJC scale Pt 19-24 £32,061-£35,412 Fixed Term: Fixed term contract until June 2030 Reporting to: Youth Engagement and Participation Manager Hours: 37.5 hours per week Pension: Employer Pension at 6% Leave: 25 Days (pro rata for part time hours) Probation:6 months Job Purpose The Participation and Advocacy Worker will support separated and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people (SUASC) aged 1630 through the delivery of the Link Up programme.

The post holder will work directly with young people to provide group-based support, accredited learning opportunities and community connection activities, alongside VOYPICs existing advocacy and participation services.

The Participation and Advocacy Worker will support co-production with young people, assist in the delivery of community education workshops, and work in partnership with statutory and community organisations to improve access to services, reduce isolation and support young people to develop confidence, skills and connections within their communities.

MAIN DUTIES: To effectively engage and communicate with separated and unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

To support the delivery of group work, workshops and activities that promote independent living skills, wellbeing and community connection.

To support young people to co-design and co-deliver community education workshops that raise awareness of the experiences and issues facing unaccompanied young people.

Assist young people to share their views and lived experiences to engage with decisionmakers.

To assist in the coordination and delivery of the OCN-accredited learning in partnership with community and statutory organisations.

To support young people to access practical support opportunities, including education, health services, volunteering, youth groups and community activities.

To support the ongoing development and engagement of the New2NI Forum and other participation opportunities.

To assist in the development of programme resources, including a live directory of services, a co-produced podcast and information materials.

To maintain high-quality recording of work undertaken, including accurate monitoring data and records of engagement and outcomes.

To collate feedback and emerging themes from young people to inform service development and project evaluation.

To work as part of the Link Up programme team and contribute to joint planning and delivery across VOYPIC services.

To assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the Link Up programme and contribute to reports as required.

To participate in regular support and supervision.

To work evenings and weekends as necessary.

General Responsibilities To comply with and implement VOYPICs policies and procedures.

To work in line with VOYPICs safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, GDPR and health & safety policies.

To attend and participate in team meetings and other relevant meetings as appropriate To attend training courses as appropriate.

To contribute to the activities, promotion and development of VOYPIC as an agency.

Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
