Account Director – IBM Solutions (Power Systems / Enterprise Infrastructure)
Location: United Kingdom (Remote / Travel)
Package: 75-100K Basic + highly competitive Bonus and Benefits
Summary
We’re looking for a high-performing Account Director with a proven track record in new business, predominantly having sold IBM solutions, particularly across the IBM Power ecosystem (Power Systems, AIX, IBM i) and wider enterprise infrastructure.
This role sits within a sales-driven, business development environment, focused on winning new business, growing strategic accounts, and delivering complex, high-value IT solutions into enterprise customers. You’ll play a key role in helping organisations modernise mission-critical systems through consultative, solution-led sales.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business development, identifying and securing opportunities within target accounts
- Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline aligned to revenue targets
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow existing and new clients
- Sell IBM Power Systems and associated infrastructure solutions as part of transformation programmes
- Engage customers around Legacy modernisation (IBM i / AIX environments) Hybrid cloud and infrastructure transformation Performance, resilience, and optimisation
- Deliver consultative sales engagement, aligning client challenges to IBM-led solutions
- Prepare and present proposals, business cases, and solution presentations
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles through to close
- Build strong relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams and partner ecosystem to deliver solutions
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM records
Key Skills & Experience
- Essential: Proven experience selling IBM solutions (Power Systems, IBM i, AIX, or wider IBM infrastructure)
- Strong background in enterprise IT sales, including:
- Servers / infrastructure (IBM)
- Storage and data solutions
- Cloud and hybrid environments
- Track record of achieving revenue targets and driving new business
- Experience managing high-value, complex deals
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and modernisation strategies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to engage confidently at C-level and technical stakeholder level
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing a full sales lifecycle
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g. Dynamics, HubSpot)
