Senior Design Engineer

Senior Design Engineer Location: Stroud Hours: Monday to Friday Salary: £50,000 Type: Permanent Key Responsibilities of a Senior Design Engineer: * Interpret customer specifications and develop engineered design solutions * Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and bills of materials * Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis * Conduct FEA analysis and validate design performance * Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and customer requirements * Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing * Review drawings and BOMs for accuracy * Participate in continuous improvement and product development activities * Mentor and support junior engineers * Represent the engineering function at customer and internal meetings * Deputise for the Principal Engineer when required Key Skills of a Senior Design Engineer: * Degree or recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering * Strong 3D CAD design experience * Experience designing high-pressure equipment * Knowledge of API, ISO, PED and ASME design standards * Experience carrying out engineering calculations and FEA * Understanding of DFM and DFA principles * Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes * Experience using MRP systems and engineering databases * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
